Hommerts Cycling Team has signed Sandijs Semerjaks. The former Tweedaagse van Antwerpen winner was put on the transferlist by his team JJL24SS. We didn't hesitate and contracted him immediately for a fee of 210k.
"We are currently in need of points. We need about 100 before day 27 so that we can compete in the Norway Tour. We will compete in 2 time trials and at least 1 cobble race, now that we have signed Sandijs, next to cobble he can also do sprintraces but our focus is on cobbles first." Said HCT manager Boonstra.
The first race for Semerjaks will be Poltár - Poltár at Thursday.
Then some training news: The training of Samuel Trujillo is delayed for a week since he got injured in last TT. He took to many risk in a corner and went down. Boonstra explained: "Samuel had great intermediate times. He was going for the win only but lost because he went down. He broke his collarbone."
Rumors say Trujillo had to be the captain in the upcoming Norway Tour. He was going to receive some climb training.
Further HCT biggest talent Zlako Chaloupka developed very well. He received technique and flat training and after his upcoming race he will get sprint training. "If Zlako can improve his sprint he's going to be a prologue killer". Thus HCT manager Boonstra. Zlako just turned 22 and dreams of winning the Nederlandse Tour. Therefore having a good sprint is vital.
